MedLook Weekly Tip For 12/15/2006Sub-folders for Patients - Total Aging Return to ArchiveThe Patient sub-folders
include six (6) folders that show Total Aging: Total Aging, and Total Aging X-Y (X-Y is 0-30, …
120+). The Total Aging folder begins
the aging computation the moment you click on the folder. All accounts are aged but only non-zero
accounts will be displayed. The information
computed and displayed includes: the account
balance, 30, 60, 90, 120, 120+ day aging, and basic patient contact
information. The aging values are a
combination and total of all amounts due from all payors. This means the insurance and patient aging
is all lumped together for this report (others separate them). Totals are computed in the footer for each
column of data. Below is a view of Total
Aging.
The Total Aging 0-30, Total
Aging 31-60, Total Aging 61-90, Total Aging 91-120, and Total Aging 120+
are aged according to their respective date ranges. They show much of the same information as Total Aging but
aside from the obvious date range restriction there is another significant
difference. The computed aging is a
result of the expected amount due from each respective payor. This means the aging is divided into
categories/columns for the total, primary insurance, secondary insurance,
patient, and other. Aging in this
manner provides the most flexible reporting and can be useful in many ways. Below is a view of Total
Aging 0-30.
