MedLook Weekly Tip For 12/05/2005Batch Billing Insurance - ADVANCED Filters (Part 4) Return to ArchiveThere is one remaining filter available for Batch Insurance Claims and that's the Advanced Filters. This option only takes up a single line on the dialog but is EXTREMELY powerful. Granted, without reading the documentation you would most likely be lost trying to use it, but it is available and documented. Plus, you can always make a support call if necessary. Anyhow, this option allows you to do many things. If you select the drop-down list you'll see things related to "LastNam", "PtNum", "CorpName", and "Doc". You can guess what these might be. For instance, if you wanted to generate claims for everybody named "Jones" you would select: IdentFil.LastNam = 'Jones' Or for everybody alphabetically on or after Jones as: IdentFil.LastNam >= 'Jones'So you see you could generate claims in alphabetically sorted groups by the patient's last name if you wish, etc. You can do the same using the account number as: IdentFil.PtNum >= 100 Perhaps you need to generate claims for an individual insurance carrier. You can do this using the Insurance Id # as: P_Ins.InsNum = 100. Or for a single doctor as: IdentFil.Doc = 'JJJ' To bill for all of doctor "JJJ" patients.
