Batch Billing Insurance - Filters (Part 1)   Return to Archive

In Batch Billing Insurance there is a section for Filters. Filters are used to include and exclude certain charges. Selecting this option will generate claims for all charges that haven't already been submitted either electronically or on paper. On a daily or weekly basis, depending upon how frequently you submit insurance claims, you would normally select 'Unsubmitted Charges Only.'

The alternative is to select charges by date range (start and end date). Using the date range all charges that have a DOS (date of service) within the range will be submitted (to electronic file or paper). This method is best used when you need to re-bill a set of charges. This might be necessary if one or more batches of submitted claims were entirely rejected or lost.
