Batch Billing Insurance - Sorting Claims   Return to Archive

In Batch Billing Insurance there is an option available to control the order of the generated claims. This option is labeled 'Sort By' and has three selections: Account Number, Last Name, and Insurance Carrier Name. This simply allows you to generate either your electronic or paper claims (or both) in one of these three orders of sorting. The choice depends upon your particular preference and office practices. In either case, the resultant file claims are identical.

If you choose to send electronic and paper claims to file then your results may seem a little unpredictable. This is simply because all claims are first sorted by type: paper first, then electronic. So the 'Sort By' order is always secondary to the type of claim.
