MedLook Weekly Tip For 09/26/2005Reports - Custom Reports (Part 2) Return to ArchiveContinuing with the Custom Reports, this week we're looking at how to create or modify a custom Patient Report. Let's start by selecting custom reports and then customization of patients. Make sure the Single File option is NOT checked. Your template should by default be set to c:\program files\rem systems\medlook\template\PatientTemplate.rtf. Click the Edit button to the right of this field. It should invoke your RTF editor (either Word or WordPad in most cases). You should see a graphic of a doctor/dentist examining a patient. You can remove this, move it, or change it using the editor. Next you see a table that is very similar to the Patient Summary report PLUS a bunch of additional information at the bottom. Let's completely change the report so that it shows only the patients name, account #, home phone, DOB and age, sex, and SSN. To do this you need only enter the following information formatted the way you want it to appear (i.e. fonts, colors, table alignment, etc.):
Save the file and make sure the path to the file in the template field points to the same file. Now select a patient and Process. Next select Edit to the right of the output folder (again you can change this to be anywhere convenient). Your output should show up. Check out the MedLook manual for details on custom reports in Chapter 11 and for a complete listing of the keywords and syntax in the Appendix.
