MedLook Weekly Tip For 09/25/2006Sub-folders for Doctors Return to ArchiveThe Doctors sub-folder has only three entries at this time. These sub-folders present financial information broken down per doctor. They each have pretty much the same parameters just with differing time periods. They include Doctors Financials, Doctors YTD Financials, and Doctors Last Year’s Financials. They each show the Date, Charges, Payments, Credits, Debits, Write-offs, Custom Credits, and Doctor. The Doctors Financials by default groups the output per Doctor, then by Year, presenting the financial information for each doctor per month. The graphic below shows Doctors Financials as the selected sub-folder. Dr. Do A. Little is shown in entirety having only three months data in 2006 and four in 2005. Notice that the Total is computed per year and then for all the years.
One important thing to note is that some of these folders can take a considerable amount of time (minutes) to compute and display. That’s why they are broken up as they are. Obviously the YTD figures should compute much faster than Last Year’s and both of these should be faster than the entire data set. The more transactions you have in your database the longer the computation time. The YTD and Last Year’s displays should be relatively quick. Once the data is presented you can double click an entry to edit the doctor (not the transactions). It is more likely that you will want to print or email the data than edit the doctor. Simply select the records you want to print and select the File->Print option (or preview, etc.).
