Sub-folders for Procedure Codes   Return to Archive

The Procedure Codes sub-folder has four entries at this time (one more than Diagnosis Codes).  One of the sub-folders includes the associated Fee Schedules, if any, with each code.  The remaining three sub-folders present financial information broken down per procedure code.  They each have pretty much the same parameters just with differing time periods.  They include Proc Financials, Proc YTD Financials, and Proc Last Year’s Financials. They each show Date, Description, # Times, Amount and Doctor. The Proc Financials by default groups the output per Code, then by Doctor, presenting the financial information for each procedure code per month for all transactions.

The graphic below shows Proc Financials as the selected sub-folder.  Code 99213 has information for 2005 and 2006 and for two doctors (Little and Moore).  Notice that the Total is computed per doctor and then per code.

The Proc Year’s Financials and the YTD Financials will show the same grouping, etc., but will contain the data for only the current year.

The sorting, grouping, colors, fonts, etc., of the data layout can all be easily changed from the right click menu.  The default layout can also be easily restored from the right click menu.

One important thing to note is that some of these folders can take a considerable amount of time (minutes) to compute and display. That’s why they are broken up as they are.  Obviously the YTD figures should compute much faster than Last Year’s and both of these should be faster than the entire data set.  The more transactions you have in your database and the more codes you have entered, the longer the computation time.  The YTD and Last Year’s displays should be relatively quick.

Once the data is presented you can double click an entry to edit the code (not the transaction).  It is more likely that you will want to print the data out.  Simply select the records you want to print and select the File->Print option (or preview, etc.).
