Sub-folders for Insurance Carriers   Return to Archive

The Insurance Carriers sub-folder has only three entries at this time (just like Diagnosis Codes).  These sub-folders present financial information broken down per carrier.  They each have pretty much the same parameters just with differing time periods.  They include Insurance Financials, Insurance YTD Financials, and Insurance Last Year’s Financials. They each show Date, Charges, Payments, Credit, Debit, Write-off, Custom Credit and Insurance Phone. The Insurance Financials by default groups the output per Carrier, then by Year, presenting the financial information for each carrier per month for all transactions (not year specific).

The graphic below shows Insurance Financials as the selected sub-folder.  Aetna and BCBS are shown in entirety with Aetna having data for 2005 and 2006 but BCBS only having data for 2005.  Notice that the Total is computed per year and then for all the years.

The Last Year’s Financials, as shown below, shows the same information but only for the current year.  Obviously the YTD Financials will show the same grouping, etc., but will contain the data for only the current year.

The sorting, grouping, colors, fonts, etc., of the data layout can all be easily changed from the right click menu.  The default layout can also be easily restored from the right click menu.

One important thing to note is that some of these folders can take a considerable amount of time (minutes) to compute and display. That’s why they are broken up as they are.  Obviously the YTD figures should compute much faster than Last Year’s and both of these should be faster than the entire data set.  The more transactions you have in your database and the more codes you have entered, the longer the computation time.  The YTD and Last Year’s displays should be relatively quick.

Once the data is presented you can double click an entry to edit the code (not the transaction).  It is more likely that you will want to print the data out.  Simply select the records you want to print and select the File->Print option (or preview, etc.).
