MedLook Weekly Tip For 08/15/2006Sub-folders for Diagnosis Codes Return to ArchiveThe Diagnosis Codes
sub-folder has only three entries at this time.
These sub-folders present financial information broken down per
code. They each have pretty much the
same parameters just with differing time periods. They include Diag Financials, Diag
YTD Financials, and Diag Last Year’s Financials. They each show the Date,
Description, # Times, Total ($), and Code.
The Diag Financials by default groups the output per Code, then
by Year, presenting the financial information for each code per month
for all transactions (not year specific).
The graphic below shows Diag
Financials as the selected sub-folder.
Code 401.1 is shown in entirety having only three entries with one
in 2006 and two in 2005. Notice that the
Total is computed per year and then for all the years.
The YTD Financials,
as shown below, shows the same information but only for the current year. Obviously the Last Year’s Financials
will show the same grouping, etc., but will contain the data for last year.
The sorting, grouping, colors,
fonts, etc., of the data layout can all be easily changed from the right click
menu. The default layout can also be
easily restored from the right click menu. One important thing to note
is that some of these folders can take a considerable amount of time (minutes)
to compute and display. That’s why they are broken up as they are. Obviously the YTD figures should
compute much faster than Last Year’s and both of these should be faster
than the entire data set. The more
transactions you have in your database and the more codes you have entered, the
longer the computation time. The YTD
and Last Year’s displays should be relatively quick. Once the data is presented
you can double click an entry to edit the code (not the transaction). It is more likely that you will want to print
the data out. Simply select the records
you want to print and select the File->Print option (or preview,
etc.). | ||||||||||||
