MedLook Weekly Tip For 08/07/2006Sub-folders Return to ArchiveIn MedLook 3.0 we
introduced many new features. Chief among these are the
sub-folders. Sub-folders are found using the plus sign (+) to
the left of most of the folders. This is exactly how Windows
Explorer (aka My Computer) and MS Outlook work. A host of
other Windows applications also work this same way. MedLook has sub-folders for
the following folders: Patients, Doctors, Procedure Codes,
Insurance Carriers, Diagnosis Codes, Office Reports, Office Labels, Billing,
Helpers and Appointments. The last five folders have always
had sub-folders. The new sub-folders add an interesting set
of features to MedLook. These folders have single click
dynamic reports that allow you to quickly see information that is not readily
available through a standard report and then to drill into one of the folders
itself. For instance, Patients has a Patient Due sub-folder
that lists the patients sorted by the amount each patient has
outstanding. Double clicking any of the patients listed
results with the patients account being opened up in the Patient
dialogs. More on this later. A right click anywhere in
the folder list area will invoke the SubFolder Selection dialog.
This dialog allows you to enable or disable the sub-folders for
display. For instance, if you don’t use the appointment
scheduler then you could disable all of the "Schedule" related folders so they
won’t appear in your list. You can always enable a hidden
sub-folder at a later time using the same approach. In future eTips we will
discuss the sub-folders and what they do at more length. They
offer some very powerful reports at a single simple click. Email Us Any questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome. |
