MedLook Weekly Tip For 05/15/2006Labels - Patient Labels Return to ArchiveWay back on 11/17/2003 we
discussed Patient Labels
for Charts. While this particular feature has not changed much since then a
lot still remains to be discussed regarding labels. Typically we think about
labels in regards to generating patient labels for mailing statements. Obviously if you use windowed envelops you
don’t need to print patient labels.
However, labels still have their place.
As noted in 2003 they are handy for patient charts. Some offices find it convenient to print a
full page of labels for each patient and place them in their paper folder. In this way error can be reduced or
eliminated when they patient goes to the hospital or lab. A few labels are passed along from the office,
to the lab, and then to the hospital.
All of the pertinent identifying information is simply attached via the
label. Mistakes can be greatly reduced
in this way. Labels can also be
customized to contain just the information you need. Simply select the Use Custom Layout option, browse for and identify a template, and
proceed as normal. For more information on the templates refer to the MedLook
manual or to the tips on Custom Reports
from 09/19/2005 to
10/17/2005. Of course, all of the
labels can be sent to a variety of label designs. If a design is not present that you need, we
can either create one for you or tell you how to do it yourself. With multicolumn labels you can specify which
row and column to start printing your labels on. You can even generate copies (which
is handy for the scenario outlined above). Email Us Any questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome. |
