MedLook Weekly Tip For 03/10/2006

Patient Batch Billing - Advanced Filters and Reprints   Return to Archive

The Advanced Filters have been discussed in the tip from 12/05/2005 (Batch Billing Insurance - Advanced Filters (Part 4)).   So we won't repeat that here.

Reprints have also been discussed for insurance in the tip from 12/12/2005 (Batch Billing Insurance - Reprints).  There is a difference though between the insurance and patient statement reprints.  In the patient reprints the statements are actually stored as a PDF (Portable Document Format) file and readable using Adobe Acrobat (and other programs).  So you can easily return to a batch of patient statements and reprint any single page, or all pages.  At this point the reprints are completely separated from the database and any changes that may happen there.

For the really curious you can find a list of all of your batch patient statements in the medlook database folder in the reprints sub-folder.  They are named as Bil<MM><DD><YYYY>.PDF (as in Bil03102006.PDF for March 10, 2006).  They can also be recalled in the Batch Date field in the Reprints section.
