MedLook Weekly Tip For 02/17/2006Patient Batch Billing - Include Accounts With At Least This Much Due Return to ArchiveThere is no doubt about it, billing a patient for less than $1 via a mailed statement just isn't worth it. In MedLook you can set two different filters to protect against wasting time and money billing such accounts. In Patient Batch Billing there is a section for Filters. The first sub-section is "Include Accounts With..." and the first two options are "Account Due At Least" and "Patient Due At Least". Using either of these fields you can be sure to bill only accounts that have at least a minimum amount due. Of course, you could view this as excluding accounts that don't have at least a minimum amount due. In either case, this feature allows you to save money (to say nothing of your time, paper, toner/ink, etc.). The difference between the Account Due and Patient Due should be obvious.
