MedLook Weekly Tip For 02/05/2008
Adding Footers to Patient Statements
Return to Archive
Recently it was brought to our attention that with the formatted patient
statements when the patient ripped off the top of the statement to return with
payment the remainder didn't contain any contact information on it. Of course, it could have
been included with the Messages but this didn't seem very friendly. Plus you would
always want to include some contact information on every statement. Adding a
simple footer line or two seemed to make sense.
In the more recent versions of MedLook we have added this capability via the
statement layout file. When in Patient Billing if you select Edit Layout
then XML Notepad will startup so you can edit the layout. At the end of each
layout section there are two entries (if not, generate a claim and then try
editing again, it will show up) called PageFooter1 and PageFooter2. These provide
two full lines of text that will appear along the bottom of your statements if
you enable them. Most of the fields are self-explanatory and are most easily
shown with a simple example. Set Bold to 1, Italic to 1, FontSize to 8 and then
in the Text field enter something like "MedLook is GRRREEAATT! Check us out at
www.MedLookUSA.com". Save the changes and generate a bill. The footer will appear
near the bottom of your statement. You can change it's location using the Top and
Left fields as always.
While this is really minor, it does add a nice touch to your statements. These
footer lines are only available in the formatted patient statements.
